11-Play with your imagination
and have Fun - Juega con tu imaginación y Diviértete: me twice
Maybe it shouldn’t be placed here, but in the
first place! Always remember to have fun! This is something you do because you
like it, no one tells you to. So the very moment it becomes something
compulsory or that you just don’t enjoy, then is time to quit, even if it is
just for a while (it has happened to me too, and there’s nothing to be ashamed
of).
If you don’t know what to take photographs of,
why don’t you try new things with yourself? You can take this as an exercise,
in order to improve your skills, or to get new ideas! I had a lot of fun with
this “Photo-session” I did to myself (I show it to you below), though I’ve only
uploaded one, I did several and got many different results!
A lo mejor no debería estar
colocado aquí, ¡sino en primer lugar! ¡Acuérdate siempre de divertirte! La
fotografía es algo que haces porque te gusta, nadie te dice que lo hagas. Así
que en el momento en que se convierta en algo obligatorio o que simplemente no
disfrutes, es hora de dejarlo, incluso si es solo por un tiempo (también me ha
pasado a mí, y no hay porqué avergonzarse).
Si no sabes de qué hacer fotografías,
¿por qué no pruebas nuevas cosas usándote a ti mismo de modelo? Puedes
enfocarlo como un ejercicio para mejorar tus habilidades, o para obtener nuevas
ideas. Yo me divertí mucho con esta “sesión fotográfica” (os la enseño abajo)
de mi mismo, y aunque solo suba una, ¡conseguí resultados muy variados!
12-Lack of some Colours - Falta
de algunos colores:
This one is only referred to those who are used
to using any kind of computer programs to “modify” their photographs, such as
Photoshop or Lightroom.
We’ve already talked about black and white
photographs and, while it may make you pictures look with this nostalgia
feeling sometimes, other times, one colour, and only one, in specific places,
can give your photograph a more intense and stronger meaning or feeling… or
just be more attractive to sight if you wish to say it that way.
For instance, I removed everything here but red
and the feeling that I got from this one is “You’re not alone” (I know I should
have removed the red spot in the right corner, but by then I coulnd’t use
photoshop much and I left it that way)
Este va dirigido a aquellos que
estén acostumbrados a usar cualquier programa de ordenador para “modificar” sus
fotografías, como Photoshop o Lightroom.
Ya hemos hablado de las fotos en
blanco y negro y, aunque pueden dar a tus fotos esa sensación de nostalgia a
veces, otras veces, un color, y solo uno, en determinados sitios, puede
conseguir que tu foto tenga un significado o sentimiento más intenso y fuerte…
o simplemente ser más atractiva a la vista si lo queréis decir así.
Por ejemplo, quité todos los
colores de ésta excepto el rojo y el sentimiento que a mí me transmite es “No
estás Solo” (Lo sé, debería haber
quitado el punto rojo en la esquina derecha, pero para cuando hice la foto no
podía manejar mucho Photoshop y lo dejé así)
In this other one, I only left purple
(this-kind-of-pink is instead very soft purple), and this picture, to me, means
“No racism”, though express through flowers, like if it was a metaphore.
En esta otra, solo dejé los
morados (esa-especie-de-rosa es en realidad un morado muy suave), y esta foto,
para mi, significa “No al racismo”, solo que expresado a través de flores como
si fuera una metáfora.
For this other one it goes more complex. Not
only did I try to give meaning by leaving only one colour, but also from
removing others. I mean, the water without colour looks like if it was oil,
symbol of wealth; whereas I give the yellow of the leaves a more intense tone,
that for me means “death”, “sorrow”, which is the feeling you can get from many
photos of autumn. So this one will go for something like “wealth outside, death
inside” meaning
Para esta otra es algo más
complejo. No sólo intenté dar significado quitando todos los colores salvo uno,
sino también por el hecho de quitarlos. Me explico: el agua, sin color (aunque
sea incolora por definición) da la sensación de ser petróleo, símbolo de
riqueza; mientras que dando al amarillo de las hojas un color más intenso,
significa para mí “Muerte” o “pena”, que es el sentimiento que puedes obtener
de muchas fotos del otoño. Así que esta foto sería algo así como “Riqueza por
fuera, muerte por dentro”.
13-Any camera is better than no camera - Cualquier
cámara es mejor que ninguna cámara
I know is not the same if you take a photo with
you big Canon/Nykon/whateverbrandyouwannatalkabout than your mobile’s for
example, but there’ll be situations in which you won’t have your camera, and
you’ll see something and say “I can’t miss this opportunity” o “this is so beautiful/special
that I need to translate it into a picture”. Trust me, never miss the opportunity or you’ll regret it!
I have a few of them, mostly sunsets, but I
haven’t post them yet in any web and I can’t put them here, except for this
other one:
Sé que no es lo mismo si sacas
una foto con vuestra gran cámara
Canon/Nykon/ocualquieraquesealamarcadelaquequeráishablar que con la de vuestro
móvil por ejemplo, pero habrá situaciones en las que no tendréis vuestra cámara
y veréis algo y diréis “no puedo perder esta oportunidad” o “esto es tan
bonito/especial” que necesito trasladarlo a una fotografía”. Confiad en mí, ¡nunca perdáis la oportunidad u os arrepentiréis!
Tengo unas cuántas, fundamentalmente puestas de Sol, pero no
las tengo en ninguna web y no puedo ponerlas aquí, excepto ésta:
All right, so this one is not a sunset, but I
post it to show something to you, and is the fact that you can “make” your own
photograph. For this one, I just used a bottle of water for the reflection and
white ink (roller correction pen, actually) AND I did it with a phone. What
are you waiting for?
De acuerdo, ésta no es una puesta
de sol, pero la subo para enseñaros algo, y es el hecho de que podéis “crear”
vuestra propia fotografía. Para ésta,
utilicé una botella de agua para el reflejo y tinta blanca (tippex, en
realidad) Y la hice con un móvil. ¿A qué estáis esperando?
14-Perspectiva-Lines
Buildings, bridges, paths, railways, any object
with lines can help you create some deepness in your photograph that may help you
to make them more special. Lines give us feelings, and is not the same a line
going this way “ I “ than a line like an “S”. For example, have you noticed in
some car ads that the road that takes part of the photography normally goes
like an “S”? Use what you have in front of you to give feeling to the people
that, someday, will look at your pictures. Some examples might be trees growing
straight to the sky or docks, like mines:
Edificios, puentes, caminos, vías
de tren, cualquier objeto con líneas puede ayudarte a crear profundidad en tu
fotografía que puede hacerlas más especiales. Las líneas nos transmiten
sensaciones, y no es lo mismo una línea con esta forma “I” que una que tiene la
forma de una “S”. Por ejemplo, ¿te has dado cuenta que en algunos de los
anuncios de los coches, las carreteras que forman parte de la fotografía
normalmente hacen una “S”? Usa lo que tienes en frente de ti para transmitir
sensaciones a las personas que, algún día, van a ver tus fotos. Algunos
ejemplos pueden ser árboles creciendo hacia el sol, o muelles, como éstas mías:
15-Other points of view than your eyes - Otros puntos
de vista distinto de tus ojos:
Don’t take
photographs at the same height your eyes are. Use higher or lower points of
view. Why? Everybody sees the world at (of course, more or less) an average
height. If you take photographs from this height, you are showing them “nothing
new”, whereas if you take your pictures from a point of view nobody is used to,
you “open” their eyes. Is a good piece of advice, and not normally known
No fotografíes a la altura de tus ojos. En su lugar, hazlo
desde puntos más altos o bajos. ¿Por qué? Todo el mundo ve el mundo (por
supuesto, más o menos) desde una altura media. Si fotografias a esa altura, no
les enseñas “nada nuevo”, mientras que si haces las fotos desde un punto de
vista al que nadie está acostumbrado, les “abres” los ojos. Es un buen consejo,
y generalmente no es conocido
