Aquí, mi crítica LIBRE DE SPOILERS de la nueva película de ciencia ficción de Joseph Kosinki y Tom Cruise, OBLIVION

La forma más rápida de hacer una crítica de esta película y, más o menos, hablar de su argumento sin decir nada demasiado revelador sería:

A Space Oddyssey+Wall-E+Mass Effect = Oblivion
The result is not bad, however. Is quite entertaining
and very spectacular to see, with a very powerfull OST and very good sound’s
effects. If you are a sciencie fiction fan, or you just have seen the movies
I’ve mentioned above, you won’t see “anything new”. Anyway, you’ll enjoy the
film, as the mix of the differents elements from these different movies works
pretty well in creating this stand alone film.
El resultado no es malo sin embargo. Es bastante entretenido y muy espectacular de ver, con una poderosa banda sonora y muy buenos efetos de sonido. Si eres un fan de la ciencia ficción o simplemente has visto las películas que he mencionado arriba, no estarás viendo "nada nuevo". De cualquier manera, disfrutarás la película, ya que la mezcla de los distintos elementos de esas distintas películas funciona bastante bien a la hora de crear ésta.
PLOT-ARGUMENTO
What it is said in the trailers (and it is just
what I’m going to tell you as I don’t want to give anything away) is that the
Earth was attacked by an alien race called “the scavs”. Humans won the war, but
Earth was destroyed, turning into a huge radioactive wasteland with most of our
more iconic buildings and monuments buried below tons of dust and ashes.
Lo que dicen en los trailers (y que es lo que yo te voy a contar porque no quiero revelar nada) es que la Tierra fue atacada por una raza alienígena conocida como "los scavs" (carroñeros). Los humanos ganaron la guerra, pero la Tierra quedó destruida, convertida en un gigante vertedero radiactivo con la mayoría de nuestros edificios y monumentos más icónicos enterrados bajo toneladas de polvo y cenizas.
The movie has three or four major twists. Some
of them you would expect, some others surprised me, which I’m glad, as they
made the film more and more interesting as I was going though it.
La película tiene tres o cuatro principales giros argumentales. Algunos los esperarás, otros me sorprendieron, lo que agradezco, porque hicieron la película poco a poco más interesante conforme iba viéndola
In my opinion, the movie was a little bit
slow. It took it a while to start revealing its “secrets”. However, it does
very well in dosificate the amount of information it gives you, as not
everyghing is revealed together, but many things you won’t get to understand
until the very last 10 minutes. I appreciate that.
En mi opinión, la película era un poco lenta. Le costó un rato hasta que se empiezan a revelar sus "secretos". De cualquier manera, hace bien en dosificar la cantidad de información que proporciona, ya que no todo es revelado junto, si no que muchas cosas no las llegarás a entender hasta los últimos 10 minutos. Agradezco eso.
By the end of the movie, you will still have
questions not answered. Maybe some of them would be answered in a second view
(I’ve just seen if once by the moment) some others may never be answered, but I
think is fine to not always know everything…
Para el final de la película, aún tendrás preguntas sin responder. Quizás algunas de ellas queden contestadas con una segunda vez que veas la peli (de momento solo la he visto una), otras nunca serán contestadas. Pero creo que está bien que algunas veces no sepamos todo...
ACTORS-ACTORES
This is Tom Cruise’s film. He’s the main
character by far. I’m not specially a big fan of him, nor I think he is a bad
actor. He delivers here. Sure, someone could have made a better interpretation,
more emotional, but I’m fine with it.
Esta es la película de Tom Cruise. Él es de lejos el principal protagonista. No soy especialmente un fan suyo, pero tampoco pienso que sea un mal actor. Lo hace bien. Claro, seguro que alguien podría haber hecho una interpretación mejor, más emocional, pero estoy bien con la suya.

The rest of the cast, as I’ve said, are
supporting cast. Olga Kurylenko and Andrea Riseborough have, each one, a couple
of emotive scenes. But they are not given much to work with, not many moments
to deliver some good lines, I’m afraid…

Morgan Freem y Nikolaj Coster Waldau están totalmente desperdiciados en esta película, y esto es probablemente lo que más me moleste del film. Si el reparto secundario es tan bueno, ¿por qué no lo usas más? No lo sé, Nikolaj (Jaime Lannister en Juego de Tronos) apenas tiene un par de líneas y sólo posa cual tipo duro. Morgan Freeman habla un poco más, pero me habría gustado verle más, ya que creo que es un actor muy capaz. Qué pena...
MUSIC-MÚSICA
I don’t know much about music, and generally, I
really don’t care about OST unless it’s something really disturbing that I
can’t stand. However, M83 did a good job here, with some epic scenes enhanced
thanks to their rythms.
No sé mucho sobre música y, generalmente, no me suelen importar las bandas sonoras a no ser que sea algo realmente perturbante que no pueda aguantar. Sin embargo, M83 hace un buen trabajado aquí, consiguiendo realzar algunas escenas, ya de por sí épicas, con sus ritmos.

I can’t really say much more about the OST, I
like it, but I’m not that much into music though. However, my friends loved it!

CONCLUSIONS-CONCLUSIONES
Joseph Kosinki’s new movie stands as a good
sciencie fiction film, entertaining and very visual,. Even if it’s not very
original, it manages to keep you in your seat, wondering how is going to
progress and actually surprising you with some of the twists in its plot.
Definetly worth watching in a huge cinema screen. Pity the supporting cast didn’t
had bigger roles, as most of the actors could have given very neat
interpretation.
